CORIN (DJ)

She/her — Australia
Saturday 18 June — Garage Noord

Corin Ileto is a Filipino-Australian electronic producer, DJ, composer and performer working at the intersection of performance art, sound design, theater and club culture. Her productions are an assemblage where IDM, grime, EBM, trance, and baroque-like ambient come together. Each production is a speculative fiction, drawing on sci-fi, classical music composition, contemporary club culture, and ancestral myths tied to her Filipino heritage.

In her DJ sets, she brings together traditional forms of music with hyper-digital sounds to create new imaginary realms. Past releases include Manifest (Bedouin Records, 2019) and Enantiodromia, released last year on Lee Gamble's UIQ label. Later this year, CORIN will release her sophomore album Lux Aeterna (meaning ‘Eternal Light’),.

Her past appearances and performances include CTM Festival, Unsound Festival, Soft Centre Festival and Boiler Room. CORIN also hosts a regular monthly show on NTS Radio and is a member of Club Ate - a Sydney based collective working with members of the queer Asia-Pacific diaspora focused on creating their own future folklore.

The presentation of CORIN’s DJ set is part of the FIBER x SOFT CENTRE showcase and made possible with the support of the Australia Council for the Arts.
