These are the first confirmed speakers of FIBER Festival 2022’s Conference
A couple of weeks ago, we proudly announced the lion's share of the Music & Performance Programme of FIBER Festival: Mutation Part 2. The two-day conference is the heart of the festival and offers a dynamic range of performative lectures, interviews, listening sessions, conversations and a revolving ritual installation that expand on the festival's theme of Mutation.
Today we are happy to introduce you to the artists, researchers and designers that will be speaking at the Conference of the festival. All six sessions will be taking place divided over Saturday 18 June and Sunday 19 June at warehouse theatre Likeminds. On Friday 17 June you can also join us for the Audiovisual Art Assembly, a meeting place for professionals, artists and students. In between panels and workshops you can enjoy a cold drink and some music in the cosy outdoor area of Likeminds.
On Saturday, under the umbrella-topic of Attuning to Mutating Worlds, there will be three sessions taking place: Mutant Making, Energy, Electricity (with Adam Bobbette and Vibike Mascini) and Other Frequencies (with Colette Aliman and Andrius Arutiunian). On Sunday, we will zoom into the question of Collective Reorientation. On this day as well, we host three sessions to welcome you to: Postcapitalist Design (with i.a. Selçuk Balamir), Queer Ecologies and In-Betweenness (with Kumbirai Makumbe and Nicolas Baird from The Institute of Queer Ecologies) and Wxtchcraft (with i.a. Juliette Lizotte). We are also happy to add Paraadiso to our Music & Performance programme with a Live A/V performance at MACA.
How to reorientate ourselves collectively, and foster new forms of kinship with more-than-human entities, towards post-human worlds? Through the theme of Mutation, we branch out into these topics to challenge ourselves to share what we know, and innovate in this world where the only constant is change.
