Developed in a period when travel was not possible due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Amsterdam based Yb3l and Kendu Bari were inspired to rediscover their daily surroundings. The artists recorded natural and man-made sounds to build a new world to travel through. This has now led to their forthcoming album Loom Of The Light, which will be released in the near future. The album is named after a phenomenon where powerful lights – like those of a lighthouse – are visible beyond the horizon when they’re scattered upward by water particles in the atmosphere. With their live performance Tour Around The Lighthouse they take us on a brief trip through this unfolding world, giving away a glimpse of the entire journey to come.
Yb3L is an Amsterdam based multidisciplinary artist who’s exploring the fields of electronic music. Alongside her own projects she is co-running Sann Odea, a small independent record label set up as a creative platform for new artists. In her upcoming productions, she combines experimental breaks with ambient textures and heartfelt synths, with a debuut coming out soon on Traumgarten. Her DJ sets range from breakbeats and pumping techno to eastern-influenced club, organic rhythms and experimental brain melters, often accompanied by field recordings or spoken word that reflect a certain theme.
Kendu Bari is an Amsterdam-based producer and DJ. He is one of those rare artists that are able to tell stories without the use of words. He sculpts his sound by combining electronic club styles with mesmerising synth textures and he is not afraid to seek behind the unknown. In addition to studying at the conservatory of Haarlem, Kendu is also co-running the upcoming label Sann Odea. It is set up with the aim of stimulating local talent and creating a new platform for experimental electronic music in Amsterdam.
