As part of our Garage Noord club evening, we can present a special collaboration: Amsterdam based sound magician Zohar will join forces with sub-bass provider Laksa.

Zohar is a versatile DJ and performer who operates between industrial beats, darker ambient atmospheres, abstract sound worlds and break rhythms. In her own productions she experiments with the boundaries of dancefloor aesthetics, transforming sounds and rhythms into alienating environments. She is known for her textured and often dark sets, blending with seconds between 90’s rooted industrial, distorted techno, breaks, halftime bass and experimental electronics. She has previously played at Garage Noord, Ankali, Dekmantel Festival, OT301 and De School. In addition to DJ-ing, she has released her music on her own DIY Zohar label.

Laksa brings together the best of several worlds, with a clear line between Bristol and London sound cultures. He has become a favorite figure in current bass and post-dubstep club nights and radio shows. His work is about developing sub-bass pressure, where his rhythms are sometimes broken and slippery. Running the club night and monthly NTS show ‘re:lax’ with re:ni, Laksa’s sound is sincerely shaped by his love of bass, and has resulted in a chest vibrating, hybrid sound. His tunes have been released on Ilian Tapes, Whities and many more, thus rocketing him up amongst the latest UK talents.
